This is a skill I’ve created for Alexa (Amazon Echo). Those who are preparing the Life in the UK exam can now practice thanks to this skill just by letting Alexa ask you questions from the exam.
The final chapter. With this application I have managed to cover all the main 3 nautical titles that you can get. I think this is a really addition to the other two applications and I feel really happy to be able to help someone who is just starting from the first to the last exam.
My first skill for Alexa, the engine behind Amazon Echo. It was a nice and fun first contact with this technology. The skill is basically a math game where Alexa can guess your age by asking a few questions.
After the success with the Android apps I decided to move the project into the Web. This is the first web application available to study for the exam «Patrón de Embarcaciones de recreo».
The website is fully responsive and works really well in most browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari..
It allows users to practice questions from the exam straight from their computer or mobile device.
Thanks to the success of my first application dedicated to this topic I decided to release a second one. The app will help those won want to take the exam for «Patrón de Embarcaciones de Recreo» which is the first level of these sailing licences and one of the most popular one.
This is version 3.0 of vouchercloud. I’ve been working on this project for more than 4 years. In all that time we have released more than 60 different versions of the app. This version 3.0.0 is a new milestone for us as we have improved once again parts of the UI of the application.
As part of the study to get my sailing licence I deiced to created an application to help me study while travelling and in the move. Thanks to this application and a bit of practice I managed to get my licence. I have published the app in Google Play and made it free for everyone interested on passing this exam.
This was a request from a friend who was working on this application and didn’t have the resources to build this component. It’s a custom date picker that allows you to add icons to each field as well as displaying more than 3 options at a time which is default in Android.
Helped a friend with his project by developing the Android application as well as the API inside WordPress, needed to power up the mobile apps.
With our two biggest platforms ready it was time to interconnect them. We added a whole new section inside Vouchercloud where users can browse through all our gift cards. To finalise the purchase users will be redirect to the application (if installed) or the mobile website.
As part of the Vouchercloud proposition we have always supported the deal type of offer. This is an offer that the user needs to purchase in advance. We moved from our own set of deals to a new feed of them from the best deals websites. As part of this integration we changed the look and feel of this section inside the application.
This is one more of the of applications I built for IDL. With Loyaltycloud users can store as many cards as they want, there is no need to carry those loyaltycards in your wallet any more.
Platform developed for Vodafone Italy. It’s based on vouchercloud and was developed as their loyalty program Vodafone Rewards.
Giftcloud has been one of the biggest challenges at IDL. A fantastic platform to revolutionise the industry of gift cards allowing users to buy digital gift cards from their phone.
This is version 2.0 of vouchercloud. During all this time there has been many versions but this was a major released as we made big changes on the UI and overall user experience.
Application developed for Vodafone UK based on vouchercloud. It was released in 2013 and was live for more than a year until Vodafone stopped supporting the VIP program.
This is my first fully functional game, developed using Unity and a bunch of assets that I bought from a preexisting game.
As part of the agreement with Vodafone we started to release Vouchercloud in more countries like Germany, Netherlands, Malta and South Africa. Vodafone customers do have access to better content inside the application, and to validate them as customers we developed a full telephone + pin journey as well as an automatic recognition of the MSISDN via Header Enrichment.
Vouchercloud has had its logo placed on the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes car for the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Vodafone Group («Vodafone») announced the increased its shareholding in Vouchercloud’s parent company, Invitation Digital Limited (IDL), to 57%. Vodafone took a 21% stake in IDL in May 2011 and, further to the transaction announced today, has the first option to increase its direct shareholding in the future.
After the success of vouchercloud in Android and iOS we worked on the Windows Phone version. We managed to release this version in 7 countries around Europe.
With the support of Vodafone and their interest on supporting all mobile platforms we managed to released the BlackBerry version.
After six months I became the Head of Mobile of IDL and since then I took care of all the mobile development within the company. I started managing the development of our vouchercloud application in other platforms as BlackBerry and Windows Phone.
For the second year in a row I was able to attend the Google I/O in San Francisco. There is no better place to meet talented people.
After a couple of weeks working at IDL I released the first version of vouchercloud for the Android platform. It was a big milestone for the company and the begging of my long career here at IDL
In March 2011 I decided to move to the United Kingdom and join IDL (Invitation Digital). I was hard to leave everything behind, but after many good years at Indra I knew it was the right time for new challenges.
I decided to move to IDL as I wanted to experience what is like to join a startup in the early days and help it growth.
After Christmas of 2011 I decided to work on a small project that took a month to see the light, it was my first live wallpaper for Android. I wanted to developed a game but didn’t have the time and resources necessaries so I went for something much smaller. I based the wallpaper on one of my favourite games from my childhood, Bomberman. The application was LIVE in the Android Market for almost a Year until got removed due to Copyright.
I was the Android teacher during the release of the Máster Universitario Informática Móvil (Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca). It was a great experience where I really enjoyed teaching what I learnt during the last couple of years.
For about five months I spent most afternoons and weekends working as a freelance for Capital Energy Read. I was in charge of developing an Android application for their final client ENDESA. The application PORTAE was the mobile version of their real estate portal.
Thanks to my contacts I had the fantastic opportunity to organise a trip for a couple of Directors in Indra to meet the offices of Google and Microsoft. What a great experience.
We won the «Reto Móvil» of the BBVA Open Talent 2010 with our application Inmobialia. We built a real estate portal based on location services and augmented reality.
I taught an introductory course about Android in 8 different Universities around Spain. We did it as part of the relationship between Indra and those Universities as we worked really close in many projects.

I worked as a freelance for Mobile Snack Labs helping them build the Android version of the application ServiCaixa. We migrated their iOS version into Android in three months. The application allows users to buy cinema tickets among others tickets straight from the phone.
Once my scholarship was over INDRA offered me a position as part of their R&D team in Indra Software Labs (Madrid). I spent two incredible years learning new technologies and being part of some incredible projects.
With two other friends we decided to found a new portal to talk and learn about Android. It was the first Spanish website to focus on Android and one of the first ones around the world. We kept the portal live for many years but due to different paths in our lives we couldn’t maintain it for much longer.
I joined INDRA as part of a scholarship sponsored by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. I was working there for 6 hours every day while finishing the few subjects I had left to finish my degree.
